Liu Jianchao

Liu Jianchao is Minister of the International Department of the Communist Party of China (CPC). He was previously the deputy director of the Office of the CPC Central Commission for Foreign Affairs and secretary of the CPC Committee of the Office. He was also a member of the Zhejiang provincial party standing committee and the secretary of the province's Commission for Discipline Inspection. Prior to that he was with the National Bureau of Corruption Prevention, and the International Cooperation Department of the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection of the CPC.His previous roles at the Chinese foreign ministry included being the foreign ministry spokesperson and the director-general of the ministry's Information Department. He was also China's ambassador to the Philippines and Indonesia.
