NUS Distinguished Professor; President of the Asian Bureau of Finance and Economic Research

Professor Bernard Yeung is Stephen Riady Distinguished Professor in Finance and Strategic Management at the National University of Singapore Business School. He is also the president of the Asian Bureau of Finance and Economic Research. He was the dean of NUS Business School from June 2008 to May 2019. Before joining NUS, he was Abraham Krasnoff Professor in Global Business, Economics, and Management at New York University (NYU) Stern School of Business and the director of the NYU China House. He taught at the University of Michigan from 1988 to 1999 and at the University of Alberta from 1983 to 1988.

Singapore and Hong Kong: Collaborators, not competitors

Professor Bernard Yeung of NUS says one should not take reports of Singapore overtaking Hong Kong in a set of global financial centre rankings at face value. Pendulum swings in politics and economics will drive future movements, and it may be most productive to think of how the two most important financial centres in Asia can work together to serve the economies of East and West.
