Fei-Ling Wang is Professor of International Affairs at Georgia Institute of Technology, and a member of the Council on Foreign Relations. His most recent books are “The China Trilogy”: The China Order: Centralia, World Empire, and the Nature of Chinese Power (2017), The China Record: An Assessment of the People’s Republic (2023), and The China Race: The Global Competition for the World Order (upcoming), all published by State University of New York Press.

US academic Fei-Ling Wang looks at why one decides to leave their native land and even to become a citizen of a foreign country, and how they navigate between their chosen country and that of their ancestors.
