Wen Xie

Academic and Dongbei native Wen XIE is an Assistant Professor of Sociolology at Peking University. She earned her Ph.D. in sociology from the University of Chicago in 2021. Her research focuses on sociology of transition, generations and social change, historical sociology, and comparative urban studies. She has published articles in both English and Chinese in journals including Labor History, Sociological Studies, Open Times, and Tsinghua Sociological Review. Her work was recognized with the Philip A. Kuhn Dissertation Prize in Chinese Studies from the University of Chicago and received an honorable mention for the Reinhard Bendix Student Paper Award from the Comparative Historical Sociology Section of the American Sociological Association.
