Dmitry Shlapentokh
Associate Professor, Indiana University South Bend
Dmitry Shlapentokh is an associate professor of History at Indiana University (IU) South Bend. He received his PhD from the University of Chicago. Born in the USSR (Ukraine), he teaches World and Russian/Soviet and Post Soviet history. Dmitry started working at IU South Bend in 1991, which was the year of the collapse of the USSR. He is also the author of several books, the latest of which is the monogragh The Creation of Kazakh National Identity: The Relationship with Russia, 1900–2015 (2023).
