Member, Surveillance, ASEAN+3 Macroeconomic Research Office

Jungsung Kim is a member of ASEAN+3 Macroeconomic Research Office (AMRO)’s surveillance function and contributes to analysis on the Chinese, Hong Kong and Cambodian economies. He was previously head economist of the Bank of Korea (BoK)’s Research Department. During his tenure at BoK, he had garnered extensive research experience in various aspects of the real sector, encompassing macroeconomic forecasting, labour market dynamics and asset markets. Furthermore, he provided market analysis and made substantial contributions to promoting stability in the country’s foreign exchange market. He has also served as an economic policy secretary in the Office of the President of Korea where he dedicated efforts to preparing and implementing economic policies. Kim obtained a master’s degree in applied economics at Duke University in the US.
