Pierpaolo Benigno

Pierpaolo Benigno is Professor of Monetary Macroeconomics at the University of Bern. He is also Professor at LUISS and a research fellow of the Centre for Economic Policy Research (CEPR). He holds a degree in economics from Bocconi University and a PhD in economics from Princeton. He previously taught at New York University and Columbia University. His areas of research are open-economy macroeconomics and monetary economics. He has published articles in leading academic journal and is the author of Monetary Economics and Policy: A Foundation of Modern Currency System (2025), published by Princeton University Press (https://press.princeton.edu/our-authors/benigno-pierpaolo).
