Tim Rühlig is a senior research fellow at the Center for Geopolitics, Geoeconomics, and Technology at the German Council on Foreign Relations (DGAP). His areas of research include Technology and geopolitics, China's technical standardisation power, China's politics of 5G, and EU-China relations. Rühlig also coordinates the working group on high technology and innovation of the "China in Europe Research Network" (CHERN), an EU Cost Action. He is also the author of China's Foreign Policy Contradictions: Lessons from China's R2P, Hong Kong, and WTO Policy (2022).
