Wei Zongyou

Dr Wei Zongyou is a professor at the Center for American Studies at Fudan University. He received his M.A. in International History and PhD in International Relations from Nanjing University and Fudan University in 1998 and 2004, respectively. From July 2004 to September 2014, he worked at the Institute of International and Diplomatic Affairs, Shanghai International Studies University and was the vice-dean of the institute. From 2008-2009, he was a Fulbright advanced researcher at the Department of Government at Georgetown University. He joined the Center for American Studies, Fudan University in October 2014. Dr Wei’s research interests cover American security and foreign policy, American domestic politics and Sino-US relations. Dr Wei is the author of In the Shadow of Hegemony: Strategic Choices (2010) and The U.S Security Arrangements in the Indo-Pacific (2021). He also co-authored U.S. Foreign Policy During Johnson’s Administration (2009) and co-edited Emerging Economies and International Relations (2013). He has also published more than 70 articles in Chinese and English journals. He is currently working on a research programme on the Quad and the US’s Indo-Pacific strategy.
