Bateer Chai
Writer and adventurerBateer Chai was born in Mongolia and raised in Inner Mongolia. He came to Singapore in 1995, settled down and has remained ever since. As a child, he was a young lama; in his youth, he joined the military. After retiring from the army, he worked as a wrestler, teacher, tour guide, and personal bodyguard. He also ran a travel agency, a publishing house, a garment factory, a security company, and more. In his early years in Singapore, he served as a sales manager at a shipyard, a security manager for ocean-going cargo vessels, a publishing house manager, editor-in-chief of a magazine, consultant to a security company, consultant to a restaurant group, among other roles.
