Adjunct Professor, Leiden UniversityFrank N. Pieke is a specialist in modern Chinese politics, society and globalisation at the Leiden Asia Centre, Leiden University. He founded Oxford’s China Centre, later served as the first executive director of the Leiden Asia Centre, and was director of MERICS in Berlin, and a visiting professor at the East Asian Institute, National University of Singapore. His work includes research on Chinese diasporas, politics and China-Europe interactions.
