Hidekazu Wakatsuki

Professor, Faculty of Law, Hokkai Gakuen University
Hidekazu Wakatsuki is a professor at the Faculty of Law, Department of Political Science, Hokkai-Gakuen University, where he has been teaching since 2003. After graduating from the Faculty of Law at Doshisha University in 1993, he completed a master's course at Rikkyo University Graduate School of Law in 1996 and a doctoral degree in 2002. His major publications include The Era of 'Omnidirectional Diplomacy' (2006), Political Guidance of Japan as a Great Power (2012), and The End of the Cold War and Japan Diplomacy (2017). His specialisation is postwar Japanese diplomatic history, and his research theme is Japanese diplomacy before and after the end of the Cold War.
