Tan Hwee Koon
Curator and WriterTan Hwee Koon is a Singapore-based art consultant, curator and writer with over 20 years of experience working across museums (public and private), media art festivals and art galleries in Asia. She was formerly Artistic Director of The Private Museum, Singapore; Manager (Curatorial) at National Gallery Singapore; Artistic Director at Asia Art Center in Beijing’s 798 Art District; Singapore Coordinator for Brisbane-based Multimedia Art Asia Pacific; Gallery Manager and Publicist for Plum Blossoms Gallery (Singapore-Hong Kong); and Adjunct Lecturer at the Centre for Transcultural Studies, Temasek Polytechnic, Singapore.

Lin Tianmiao: Making art through sickness, life and play
Chinese artist Lin Tianmiao’s artistic career began later in life, after she became a wife and mother. Her inspiration for artmaking comes from everyday life and objects, her experience as a daughter, wife and mother, and her ability to see the bright side amid major life and death encounters. For her, transforming the mundane into the sublime helps make “play” never end.
