ThinkChina’s inaugural forum on 28 March 2025, held in Singapore and Kuala Lumpur, featured Professor Wang Gungwu, University Professor at the National University of Singapore, and Professor Yasheng Huang, Professor of Global Economics and Management at MIT Sloan School of Management.
ThinkChina’s inaugural forum, held on 28 March 2025 at The Capitol Kempinski Hotel in Singapore with a concurrent satellite event at the Four Seasons Hotel in Kuala Lumpur, convened a panel featuring Professor Wang Gungwu, University Professor at the National University of Singapore, and Professor Yasheng Huang, Professor of Global Economics and Management at MIT Sloan School of Management. Associate Professor Ngeow Chow Bing, director of the Institute of China Studies at the University of Malaya, served as the panel respondent at the Kuala Lumpur satellite event.
After some welcome remarks by SPH Chinese Media Group Editor-in-Chief Lee Huay Leng, Senior Minister and Coordinating Minister for National Security Teo Chee Hean delivered an opening address, during which he underscored the need for cooperation between major powers, especially China and the US. Moderated by ThinkChina editor Chow Yian Ping, the forum engaged nearly 250 attendees in a dynamic discussion on the complexities of China’s global role.
